Really happy in general July 19, 2010 RozziD (Lincoln, England) Like many other reviewers, I have had many different phones in the past including the Blackberry 8310, but this is by far the best smart phone I have had. The fact that it is wifi enabled makes using the internet on the move a breeze and all of the features are fast loading. The only issue I have had with the phone is that on occasion I can not zoom when using the camera, but this is a small problem taking into consideration that it does wverything else I need it to - including an app for my Tesco Clubcard!!
A great phone and well worth the money.
Amazing comunications tool July 9, 2010 Vikram Hi, I have just now bought Blackberry Curve 8900 Sim free phone. Its an amazing device. I used to use Nokia before switching on to blackberry. The OS is really fast and very user friendly. I was always redudant to switch from Nokia to Blackberry as I personally found nokia to be more user friendly & over the years I had got used to all its settings so didnt want to change.
But Curve 8900 changed my perception. Very ease to setup, light wieght & certainly the best design among all Blackberry handsets, totally value for money. Sim free means I can use any networks sim & enjoy.
One word of caution here. This set has wifi, so you can use it to browse the internet using ur home network. But thats it. All other applications like facebook app, gtalk app , gps maps etc cannot be used without having a regular Blackberry data plan. I searched a lot on the net to find a solution but honestly there isnt one. So if you think you can use ur 'pay as you go sim' then you can only use this set for calls, sms , mms & internet browsing using wifi. For anything else like push emails, apps, bb messenger etc you need to have a BB data plan.
The set was in perfect new condition & delieved very quickly. Full marks to amazon.
Product Good, Service Slow July 8, 2010 SS11 I received this product within the specified time period for postage. However when it arrived it came with the wrong charger and was faulty. I sent the company an email to return the product which they replied to straight away with instructions for returning the item, which I followed. I then heard nothing from the company and it took two emails from me for them to acknowledge they had received my faulty phone. It took them a further seven days to send out a replacement. Good product, poor communication.
Blackberry 8900 July 7, 2010 Shambanfa This was my first experience with a blackberry and i was very excited as the reviews were really good on amazon but the phone quickly failed on me. My first problem was the ball that would refuse to move randomly for 24 hours at each time which made it impossible to use the phone. The next thing was the constant freezing and crashing of the phone which drove me insane at times and the third was that i had to charge the phone every day even if i didn't use it at all and when it is charging you cannot switch it on for the first 15 minutes or so. Maybe the phone was too business like for me but i felt that it was poor in many areas and i changed to a motorola milestone within 3 months which i have to say is the best phone that i have ever had!
